“Acústicas del litoral de Barcelona. Una aproximación etnográfica al espacio sonoro urbano” is a research project aimed to investigate the relationship between sound, public space and urban renewal in contemporary Barcelona. The project was carried out between 2007 and 2010 by an interdisciplinary research group that included social psycologist Noel García, geographer Claire Guiu, anthropologists Sandra Anitua, Miguel Alonso, and Ana Juan Cantavella, and ethnomusicologist Iñigo Sánchez, all of them members of the research group Ciudad Sonora. The sound art collective Orquesta del Caos acted as partner of the project, which was funded by the Department of Culture of the Catalan Government through the Inventari del Patrimoni Etnològic de Catalunya grants. The final research report can be found in the following link (in Catalan).
